This is a corsage work by
Emi Takazawa, an embroidery artist from Kiryu-city, Gunma, Japan. She uses
Kiryu’s traditional embroidery technique called “yokoburi (wide-swing)” and
creates each flower with silken threads.
I discovered her work at a
tiny shop in modern museum in Gunma about a year ago. I was instantly attracted
just by looking at it, but the story shop lady shared with me (like how much
effort she made into to get this blue color) made me want more.
Graceful yet strong.
